WALL TEXTURES

By manipulating paint with special techniques before it dries or by applying it unconventionally, you achieve illusionary texture and pattern. Surfaces that are flat appear three dimensional; reflect energy and movement; or can be heavily textured with rich imprints of color -- to the eye only. Almost magically, if you close your eyes and touch a surface that has been treated it is still actually flat and smooth. These techniques include: ragging, glazing, stipling, sponging, smooshing, striping and antiquing.
